Russian officials say a judge of Moscow’s City Court has been shot to death in the stairwell of his apartment building.
The Investigative Committee, Russia’s top investigative body, identified the victim of the Monday morning attack as Eduard Chuvashov.
The state news agency RIA Novosti says Chuvashov was the judge in several high-profile cases, including the February sentencing of nine skinhead gang members who killed six non-Slavs.
No arrests in the shooting have been reported.
