Israel charges 7 Jews for crimes against Palestinians

Israel has charged seven young Israeli Jews in connection with crimes committed against Palestinians.

The seven Israelis, among them two minors and a soldier, were charged with arson, assault and weapons possession, among others.

Monday’s indictment says the suspects torched the cars and residences of Arabs in Israel and the West Bank. In one case, the suspects are accused of attacking a Palestinian farmer with rods and tear gas, wounding him.

The group is accused of being behind many “price tag” attacks, referred to as such because they are meant to exact a cost for Palestinian attacks or for Israeli steps seen as favouring the Palestinians.

“Price tag” attacks have targeted Palestinian property, mosques, churches, the offices of dovish Israeli groups and even Israeli military bases.
