Four Malaysian crewmen abducted near Philippines

Four Malaysian crewmen were abducted in Malaysian waters off southern Philippines, police said on Saturday.

According to authorities, the four Malaysians were abducted on Friday evening by eight armed militants in the waters of Sabah state on North Borneo, Xinhua news agency reported.

The men, were on board a boat on the way back to Malaysia after transporting timber to the Philippines capital of Manila, police added.
