Authorities in Canada were searching on Saturday for a Bengal tiger and two camels that were stolen outside a motel near Montreal.
The perpetrators took off with the truck and trailer, the animals on board, on Friday as the driver was having a rest, Canadian media reported.
At the time of the theft, the tiger, named Jonas, and the camels, Shawn and Todd, were on their way home to the Bowmanville Zoo outside Toronto after appearing in a circus in Nova Scotia.
The zoo expressed concern about the health of the animals if they go without water and food in a hot trailer.
Zoo director Michael Hackenberger told the CTV television network that the camels are ?real gentlemen? but warned the thieves that while Jonas has a good disposition, ?he still is a tiger.?
