Senior Indian National Congress leaders Dhirendra Pratap and Satya Prakash Malaviya met Nepalese President Ram Baran Yadav and discussed the current political situation and the on going peace process in Nepal.
The two leaders, who are here to attend an international conference on Indo-Nepal economic cooperation, met President Yadav at his residence in Maharajgunj on Saturday, sources close to the President said.
They also met Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chander Poudel and former deputy prime minister and senior Standing Committee member of CPN-UML Nepal K P Sharma Oli and exchanged views on bi-lateral ties.
The Indian leaders also attended a seminar on Indo- Nepal Friendship and Economic Cooperation here in which a large number of Nepalese and Indian businessmen were present.
On the occasion, speakers including Nepalese industrialist Diwakar Golchha hailed the recently signed Nepal-India Trade Treaty which is expected to provide more access for Nepalese products to Indian market.
