Police have reported that a passenger van fell a few hundred feet off a mountain cliff in Nepal, killing 12 Hindu pilgrims and injuring three more. The van was going to the Muktinath temple when it crashed near Dana village 125 miles (200 kilometers) west of the capital, Katmandu.

Police official Kumar Pandit Chetri said the van fell off the mountain gravel road on Tuesday and police and soldiers helped rescue people. One passenger jumped from the van and survived without injury. The three others who were hurt are being treated at a hospital. The cause of the crash was still being investigated.
