Training programme held for presiding officers

In view of the forthcoming assembly elections, a training programme for the presiding officers and polling officers with respect to the Office of the Returning Officer VII was organised on Saturday.

A team headed by G.Malarkannan, Director of Commerce and Industry, along with the Returning Officer – VII has started the training programme for the polling officers and presiding officers on Saturday.

Monitoring of election activities

In this training programme, the officers were told in detail about the functioning of the voting machines and trained in the exchange of information using computers and monitoring election activities through internet. This training programme will be held for three days.

Nearly 450 officers participated in the programme.

The Office of the Returning Officer VIII also provided a similar training programme for 51 polling personnel on Saturday.
