G. Krishaa of St. Joseph of Cluny Higher Secondary School and A. Yogeshver of Maruti Matriculation Higher Secondary School scored a perfect 500 out of 500 marks in the SSLC examination, sharing the top spot in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
The students have a common dream of pursuing a career in medicine.
Krishaa, daughter of Gopi, a PWD engineer and Latha, a homemaker, excelled without the help of extra tuitions. “I studied for around five hours every day. I stuck to a regular schedule where I would finish each day’s lessons the same day. While I aimed for top marks, getting 500 was unexpected,” she said.
Krishaa has participated in science Olympiads and has an interest in arts and playing carrom.
Yogeshver said he was confident of a good performance.
“I studied for around three and a half hours a day. I had aimed to get 500 marks,” he said. Yogeshver’s father, Arivazhagan, is a marine engineer abroad, and his mother Premalakshmi is a homemaker. Though Yogeshver is passionate about dance and music, he has set his sights on studying medicine at Jipmer after his schooling.
Though both students have got full marks in all subjects, they do not figure in the State (Tamil Nadu and Puducherry) rank list as they have taken French as the first language.
