The music scene in the city is reviving on Saturday with some diverse treats.

‘Live Music - SecSatPondy,’ popularly known as SecSat (second Saturday), which is one of the defining tourism draws of the city, is happening after a hiatus.

This time, the music on offer will feature a bouquet of light classical Carnatic and Hindustani songs by the versatile P.V. Bose accompanied by some of the best instrumentalists in the region.

Dr. Bose, an accomplished classical vocalist, has also lent his voice for films in several south indian languages.

“We are sure his renditions will appeal to connoisseurs as well as lay music lovers and our expats, back in Pondy for their annual vacation, who will enjoy a taste of their home culture,” said Siddhartha Patnaik, one of the organisers of the music festival.

The programme also features Motor Wade, a rock outfit from Bengaluru who intend to cater to fans of Coldplay, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Adele, Green Day, One Republic and Red Hot Chilli Peppers with their covers.

The set list, we are told, will include huge hits such as ‘Hymn For The Weekend’, ‘Comfortably Numb’, ‘Rollin in the Deep’, ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’, Californication’, ‘Yellow’ and many more.

City-based jammers Uzwal Suspex are also playing. The concert is scheduled from 8 p.m. at the PTDC Seagulls Restaurant
