An election flying squad on Friday seized cash to the tune of Rs.70 lakh from a car during a vehicle check at Madagadipet near here. A source said the team was conducting vehicle checks at the Madagadipet check post when they intercepted a car proceeding from Puducherry.
The team found Rs.70 lakh in the car.
The occupants in the car working in a nationalised bank said that they were taking the cash for depositing it in the bank’s branch in Villupuram.
However, the trio did not have valid documents.
