The Human Rights and Consumer Protection Society (HRCPS) has strongly condemned the arrest of 32 persons from Tamil Nadu suspecting them to be woodcutters who fell trees in Andhra Pradesh.

In a statement, R. Muruganantham, executive secretary of the society, said the police personnel had arrested the Tamils who were travelling by a train.

Accusing the police of highhandedness, he demanded the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister to intervene and ensure the immediate release of the arrested Tamils.
