Puducherry RTI rules amended

In order to contain frivolous questions , the Puducherry Government has brought in certain amendments to Puducherry Right to Information Rules.

These rules are called the Puducherry Right to Information (Amendment) Rules, 2015.

New rule

As per the new rule, the application submitted by an applicant, in Form-I, for seeking information, should ordinarily not contain more than five hundred words, excluding annexures, containing address of the Public Information Officer and that of the applicant.

Under a new sub-clause, Rs. 20 will be charged per Compact Disc (CD) and Rs. 50 per Digital Versatile Disc (DVD).

The new sub-clause has also fixed price for obtaining a copy of a publication while Rs. 2 would be charged per page of photocopy for an extract from the publication.
