Tense moments prevailed outside Gandhi Thidal on the Beach Road, the venue for swearing-in ceremony, shortly before the function.

Congress supporters who had arrived to watch the function got into an argument with the police for not letting them inside the venue. Police personnel stood guard blocking the entry of people as the venue was already crowded by 11.30 a.m. A few managed to slip in even as police tried to stop them while many flashed their invitation cards arguing with the police to allow them inside.

While seating arrangements were made along the promenade in front of Gandhi Thidal, the supporters wanted to get a closer look at their leaders and insisted that they be allowed inside.

Disappointed, many stood in the scorching heat till the function was over. They had to be content with watching the function telecast on the digital screen. A few tourists ventured out on the Beach Road watched the new Ministers taking oath. Amidst the curious public there were students as well.

Ambika Antoine, who just completed her 12{+t}{+h}grade and aspires to pursue journalism, recorded the entire event at Gandhi Thidal.
