‘Our State Our Taste’ contest on June 10

Grand finale to be held in Chennai on June 30

“Our State Our Taste Contest”, a multi-city culinary contest hosted by The Hindu Group to discover the next master chef, comes to Puducherry on Sunday.

The grand cooking contest is featuring in nine districts across Tamil Nadu. The winners of the event in Puducherry will be pitted against district-level counterparts from elsewhere in the grand finale to be held in Chennai on June 30, where the winner will be crowned Tamil Nadu’s Master Chef.

To participate, aspirants can register at www.thehindu.com/osot or SMS Name <Space> City <Space> Dish Name to 9710011222 or WhatsApp or call to the number.

Cook your favourite dish that represents the flavours of Tamil Nadu at home and bring it to the venue. The dish could be either vegetarian or non-vegetarian — either starters, main course, snacks or dessert.

A panel of judges headed by Chef Damu will select the five best cooks from each city.

The winners will then participate in the grand finale in Chennai for the title “Master Chef of Tamil Nadu”. District winners stand a chance to win many prizes and the grand finale winners can take home gifts worth about ₹10 lakh.

Additionally, cook your dishes using Naga Food Products and Fortune sunflower oil and bring the covers to the venue to gain extra points.

The Puducherry event has been scheduled from 10 a.m. at The Hotel Ananda Inn on 154, Sardar Patel Road.

Premier Cookware and Appliances is the title sponsor for the event, co-powered by Naga Food Products & Fortune Sunflower Oil; Arusuvai Arasu the Masala Partner and Chef Damu the Knowledge Partner.
