NLC India Ltd installed four modern RO drinking water plants at rehabilitation centres in and around Neyveli under its CSR initiative.
The reverse osmosis water treatment plant kiosks were opened by Subir Das, Director(Mines), V. Thangapandian, Director (Power), P. Selvakumar, Director (P&P), and R. Vikraman, Director (Human Resources) at B2 Block – Rehabilitation centre, B1 Block – Rehabilitation centre, A Block – Rehabilitation centre and at Arch Gate respectively. The plants can purify 1,000 litres of water and cost ₹11 lakh each.
These RO drinking water plants were manufactured and installed by Tata Projects, which would take care of its maintenance for the next three years. At the three rehabilitation centres, the water from the kiosks would be provided to the public at a cost of ₹5 for 20 litres of clean water and at Arch Gate at ₹2 for 1 litre. N.
