Malaria and other potential fatal vector-borne diseases came under focus at a public education programme hosted recently under the Jipmer Health Education Initiative.

The 67th interactive session of these series of sessions held every month under the auspices of the Jipmer Health Education for All Forum attracted an audience of over 300, including students from various colleges, anganwadi workers and the general public.

The session was addressed by specialist doctors from various departments — Dr. Mahalakshmi, Associate Professor, Department of Preventive and Social Medicine; Dr. Jayachandiran, Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine; and Dr. Megna, Senior Resident, Department of Microbiology.

The session was moderated by Hena Melya, Medical Social Worker, Medico Social Services Wing.

It was telecast to all medical colleges of south India under the National Medical College Network (NMCN) project through the Jipmer Regional Resource Centre, according to a release.
