An onsite emergency response drill was conducted at the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) bottling plant at Odiampet near Villianur on Thursday with a view to ensure preparedness during any eventuality.

A combat, rescue and auxiliary team participated in the drill and extinguished fire at the terminal by operating the facilities.

Rescue team also monitored the passage of tanker trucks out of the terminal and also guided employees working inside the terminal to safety.

Representatives from IOC along with personnel from the Fire and Rescue Services Department attended the drill. The mock fire drill team was led by Terminal Manager G. Pandian.
