A centre for imparting free training to civil services and other competitive examination aspirants has come up at a cost of Rs. 45 lakh on the District Central Library premises here.

Commercial Taxes Minister M.C. Sampath inaugurated both the centre and the additional building for the library recently in the presence of Collector R.Kirlosh Kumar and District Librarian P.Vijayalakshmi.

The Minister said that the training centre would act as a doorway for the youth belonging mostly to Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes in the district to realise their ambition of landing in government jobs.

Training sessions would be handled by resource persons to be requisitioned from Delhi and Chennai.
