Mr. Kandasamy on Wednesday said that the Centre will not be able to do anything to disturb the stability of the Congress Government in Puducherry.

Talking to the mediapersons after inspecting the ongoing beach nourishment project, he said that the Puducherry Government was stable with 18 MLAs from the Congress and DMK including an Independent MLA supporting it in the 30-member Assembly.

The induction of three nominated MLAs recently has given rise to several controversies. The Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi says she has not recommended any of the names, buut people are entitled to know who nominated the MLAs, he added.

The nomination of the three MLAs is under scrutiny by the Madras High Court following a writ petition.

Mr. Kandasamy said that Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy had been frequently representing to the Centre for sanctioning of funds. Although promises were held out by the Centre no fund has been allocated for Puducherry.
