Congress, DMK plan campaign strategy

Leaders of the Congress and the DMK on Sunday decided to initiate action against functionaries who worked against the alliance’s candidates.

A joint meeting of the leaders was held here to discuss poll-preparedness and campaign strategy. Former Union Minister of State V. Narayanasamy, Leader of the Opposition V. Vaithilingam and Pradesh Congress Committee president A. Namassivayam, and former Chief Minister R.V. Janakiraman, former Minister S.P. Sivakumar and former MLA R. Siva, all belonging to the DMK, participated in the meeting.

Representatives of the Indian Union Muslim League, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Manithaneya Makkal Katchi also participated.

According to party sources, the leaders unanimously decided to remove functionaries working against the alliance’s candidates.
