The College of Nursing, Jipmer, organised a blood donation camp on Wednesday.
Dr. S.C. Parija, Director, Jipmer, highlighted the noble gesture of blood donation which could make a difference between life and death for a patient in an emergency.
Dr. Rajendra G. Kulkarni, officer-in-charge, Department of Transfusion Medicine, commended the effort of nursing college of conducting blood donation camp which is first in the history of nursing college. “Volunteers are the safest and quality blood donors. Men can donate every three months and women every four months,” Dr. Kulkami said.
Dr. V.S. Negi, Ag. Dean (Academic), called upon everyone in the hall to become regular donors. J. Balachander, Medical Superintendent, Jipmer, complimented the college for the noble gesture.
M.J. Kumari, Principal (Ag.), College of Nursing, and R.S. Ramesh, Assistant Professor, College of Nursing, Jipmer, participated.
About 100 volunteers came forward to donate blood.
