Members of the Centre of the India Trade Union (CITU) affiliated to the Communist Party of India (M) on Monday staged a dharna in front of the Swadeshi mills to express solidarity with the striking employees of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC).

R. Rajangam, State secretary of CPI(M), called upon the Tamil Nadu Government to redress the grievances of transport workers and hold talks with them to end their agitation.

There is disparity in salary among drivers of TNSTC and other government departments, he said.

Seenu Vasan, executive committee member of CPI(M), participated.
