Cash stolen from temple hundial

Unidentified persons on Monday broke open the hundi of Sri Kalatheeswarar -Varadharaja Perumal Temple at Mission Street and decamped with its contents.

According to police, the temple was locked on Sunday after regular poojas. Unknown persons scaled the wall of the temple and broke the lock of hundial.

The situation came to light in the morning, when the temple authorities opened the temple. The police were immediately alerted.

During the preliminary investigation, the team found that cash was stolen from the hundial. Police have registered a case and investigations are on.
