291 UG, 30 PG students of CK College receive degrees

The Graduation Day of CK College of Engineering and Technology in Cuddalore was held recently. C.K. Ranganathan, Chairman, CK College of Engineering and Technology and Chairman cum Managing Director of Cavinkare (P) Ltd., presided over the function.

M. Murali, Managing Director of Sri Krishna Sweets conferred the degrees to the Graduates. In his special address, he urged the students to make use of all their skills and become successful entrepreneurs.

D. Chandrasekaran, Director, CK Group of Educational institutions presided over the function. Principal Arun V. Parwate welcomed the gathering and presented the Graduation Day report. As many as 291 undergraduate and 30 postgraduate students received their degrees.

Bone and Joint week

rally organised

The Department of Orthopedics of Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital in Chidambaram organized a Bone and Joint week rally from July 30 to August 5 to create awareness among the people on the need to protect their bones and joints.

Prof. Dr. S. Manian, Vice-Chancellor of Annamalai University flagged off the rally. Undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Physiotherapy, participated in the rally which began from Gandhi statue and culminated at Rajah Muthiah Medical College.

Drawing competition

for school students

Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology in association with the Institution of Engineers (India), Puducherry State Centre organised a drawing competition for school students on the theme ‘Connecting People to Nature,’ to create awareness among students on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Students from 63 schools in Puducherry, Cuddalore and Villupuram participated in the competition. The best drawings were awarded cash prize of ₹3,000, ₹2,000 and ₹1,000 along with 10 consolation prizes of ₹500 for each level.

M. Dhanasekaran, Chairman and Managing Director, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Educational Trust presided over the function. D. Giridhara Rao, Secretary, IE (I), Puducherry State Centre, distributed prizes.

Students’ council inaugurated

The Students’ council of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering Pondicherry Engineering College for the academic year 2017-18 was inaugurated here recently.

Karthik Subbian, Research Scientist, Facebook Research, U.S., addressed the students on the important topic of “Machine Learning.”

The council promotes the aspirations of the students to pursue higher studies via multiple study forums, viz, GRE, GATE and CAT.

P. Dananjayan, Principal of Pondicherry Engineering College, presided over the function and M. Tamilarasi, Professor and Head, Department of ECE, welcomed the gathering.
