Whether it is a leisurely indulgence in authentic Parisian cuisine or a quick snack of baguettes and croissants, marshmallow meringues or coconut conglais, there are plenty of café-restaurants that strive to offer the city’s French population a home-away-from-home feeling.
One of the early birds in the Europe-oriented café enterprises in the city, Hot Breads, the Chennai-based bakery-café chain, has opened its second outlet to add to the one it has been operating in French Town.
The city’s second Hot Breads outlet is located in Kattukuppam on the Cuddalore highway immediately after the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College.
The outlet has been done up to reflect a quaintly French decor to match a menu loaded with French delicacies.
The bakery-café expects to cater to foodies to the west of the city who have had to head downtown for the sweeter life.
The café will stock up sufficiently on galettes which is arguably among its best-selling pastries.
