The police on Monday arrested a bike-lifter and recovered five stolen motorcycles from him. According to police, a team was conducting vehicle checks on the 45-feet Road when they intercepted Vijay (19) of Jaiganesh Nagar riding a motorcycle.
When asked for the Registration Certificate of the vehicle , he gave several excuses.
During enquiry the police found that Vijay had stolen the motorcycle in front of the Bharathi Park in the city.
He was produced before a local court and remanded to custody in the Kalapet Central Prison.
