Be tough with Sri Lanka, Centre urged

March 10, 2017 01:15 am | Updated 01:15 am IST - Puducherry

Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy on Thursday criticised the inaction of the BJP-led government at the Centre for not doing enough to prevent atrocities against fishermen belonging to Tamil Nadu and Puducherry by the Sri Lankan Navy.

The Chief Minister told presspersons here that incidents like the firing on fishermen from Rameswaram would continue if the Centre failed to act tough.

Mr. Narayanasamy said while the Centre claimed to have friendly relations with the island nation, the fishermen from Tamil Nadu were illtreated.
