: The Developing Library Network (DELNET), New Delhi, in association with the French Institute of Pondicherry (IFP) will be organising the 17 national convention on Knowledge, Library and Information Networking (NACLIN) here from December 9 to 11. Former President A.P. J. Abdul Kalam will inaugurate it.
A spokesperson of the IFP said that the main theme of the convention is ‘From Building Collections to Making Connections: Transforming Libraries in the Knowledge Era.’
Information and knowledge centres keep evolving and are becoming more sophisticated day-by-day and librarians need to adapt to all that for providing better services to their users. A vast gulf exists between the new technologies that are emerging in the best IT centres in the world and most of the libraries in India which do not use them.
NACLIN focuses on bringing the two together through lectures and workshops given to library professionals by IT and library experts. Experts from India, the United States, France and Australia will address the convention.
Apart from this, international publishers and online product vendors will be exhibiting their latest products and services at an exhibition to be organised during the event.
