The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (Amma faction) has urged the government to convene a special session of the Legislative Assembly on the issue of nominated MLAs.

AIADMK leader A. Anbalagan told reporters here on Monday that the House should pass a resolution against the unilateral nomination of three members by the Centre. The resolution should be personally handed over to the President, the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, he said.

Condemning the unilateral appointment of three members as murder of democracy, the AIADMK leader said the House should immediately be convened to express its strong disapproval. Even a bandh, supported by the Congress was organised in Union Territory on the issue, he said hence the issue should be brought to its logical conclusion by passing a House resolution.
