The common motto of keeping the DMK away brought together bitter rivals the AINRC and the AIADMK here on Friday.

In a day of dramatic developments, two senior Ministers of the AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu, M.C. Sampath and R. Kamaraj, drove down to Puducherry and enrolled N. Immediately, Mr. Gokula Krishnan filed his nomination papers for the lone Rajya Sabha seat in the presence of Mr. Rangasamy.

The deal was reportedly clinched after it became clear that the DMK was backing former Union Minister S. Jagathrakshakan's efforts to win the Rajya Sabha seat from Puducherry..
