696 students make it to national school games athletic event

: Out of 1,600 participants, 696 students from the Union Territory were selected to compete in the National School Games Athletic Championship. The Stage 2 selection trial was held on Monday at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, Uppalam.

Students from Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam participated in 20 events in different track and field competitions like the high jump, long jump, relay, 100 and 400 sprint races, and discuss throw. Students competed in three categories: under 14, under 17 and under 19 for boys and girls.
