Twenty students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Puducherry, who appeared for the JEE (Mains) this year have cleared the examinations. The students will now appear in the JEE (Advanced) for admission into the Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs). B. Venkateswaran, Principal of JNV, Puducherry, said that out of 21 students who had appeared for the examinations, 20 qualified.
Puducherry is among the six centres in South India, where special coaching is provided to JNV students by NGO – Avanti free of cost.
Out of 186 students who had appeared for the exams in all the six centres, 123 qualified. Students from JNVs of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh attended the special coaching programme in Puducherry. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Puducherry is among the 593 Vidyalayas under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
