1-kg tumour removed from stomach at Chidambaram Government Hospital

A team of doctors at Chidambaram Government Hospital successfully performed an operation and removed a tumour weighing one kg from the stomach of D. Chandra (45) of Mudasalodai near here on Saturday.

Hospital sources said that Chandra was suffering from stomach ailment for the past one year. Though she was constantly on medication, she did not get relief.

After taking a scan, a team of doctors led by Chief Medical Officer Amudha Sivanandan operated upon Chandra and removed the tumour successfully after a two-hour-long surgery.She has been given the benefit of the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Scheme.
