Seething with rage at the way the Congress-led UPA has gone ahead with bifurcation of the State, TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday announced that he would go on an indefinite fast in Delhi from October 7.

“I want to go on fast to expose the Congress at the national level, its conspiracy to divide people and the match-fixing it entered into with other parties to garner votes and seats,” Mr. Naidu thundered at a press conference here. “Here is a national party that miserably failed to convince its own Union Ministers, Chief Minister, Ministers, MPs and MLAs but has embarked on a major task,” he fumed. The result is there to see with people divided sharply and having to struggle on roads for over 60 days now,” he pointed out.

State Congress leaders and people’s representatives have started talking of how the high command has messed up the issue, cut its own legs and then using crutches like TRS and YSRCP to walk, Mr. Naidu said.

Ridicules committee

Ridiculing the Antony Committee, he said people were wondering as to where it was hiding. Mr. Naidu questioned the propriety of a government to take decisions on such sensitive issues and the timing when general elections were just six to seven months away.
