Legendary cricketer and Rajya Sabha member Sachin Tendulkar has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking steps to reduce the stress and inconvenience faced by people due to the various toll booths across Mumbai. While it is pertinent that toll is collected, Mr. Tendulkar said there was no quality control on the roads.

“These toll stations have become major road blocks resulting in traffic snarls,” Mr. Tendulkar said in a letter, dated February 20 letter, made public on Friday.

Taking note of Mr. Tendulkar’s concerns, Mr. Fadnavis, while speaking in the Maharashtra Legislative Council, said his government was committed to clearing legal hurdles in shutting down the toll collection plazas.
