Navi Mumbai: A resident doctor with Terna Hospital, Nerul, was found hanging in his room at the boys’ hostel on Monday morning. The doctor, identified as Kalpesh Singhani (27), had not reported to duty. “When his colleague opened his room, he found Dr. Singhani hanging from the ceiling fan. His room-mates were not there, and he has not left any suicide note,” said senior inspector Ashok Rajput from Nerul police station. His parents, who are in Surat, will reach Navi Mumbai on Tuesday.

“Once his parents reach here, we will get more information. As of now, we have learnt that he was depressed over something and had stopped visiting his parents,” Mr. Rajput said. A case of accidental death has been registered with the Nerul police.
