Mumbai: The 53-year-old train ticket examiner (TTE) who was pushed by a ticketless passenger at Rabale station earlier this month succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning.

Central Railway officials said that around 2.50 p.m. on August 8, R.G. Kadam was pushed by an unknown passenger, who didn’t have a ticket and wanted to avoid the fine. “He fell on the stairs and was seriously injured. He had to be put on ventilator support,” said an official. He was also diagnosed with high BP and diabetes. He was operated on after a CT scan and other tests indicated the severity of his injuries.

Kadam passed away around 1 a.m. on Monday. His family lives in Pune. The Turbhe RPF have registered a case against an unknown person.
