The Panaji police will interrogate two accused from Mumbai, who they brought on a transfer warrant to Goa on Friday, for cheating those who had invested in a health club.

Shubham Soni (25) and Karan Kheralia (21), residents of Delhi, were lodged in the Mumbai central jail in a cheating case. They have been remanded in a five-day police custody here.

The duo was arrested following a complaint by Shamad M. Mahajan, who along with 23 depositors had invested their money online in a health club. But after the club officials refused to repay the money, Mr. Mahajan lodged a complaint against the company on the ‘Consumer complaint dot.com’.

According to the police, the accused noticed the complaint and approached Mr. Mahajan assuring him that they would help him get back his money. Believing them, Mr. Mahajan paid them their fees. But, the accused stopped contacting Mr. Mahajan, who later lodged a police complaint.
