An Air India aircraft on Friday evening hit an aerobridge at the Mumbai airport causing minor damage to one of its engines. No injury has been reported.

The incident happened when Air India Boeing 777-300 aircraft from Riyadh to Mumbai (flight number AI 922) was approaching the aerobridge for disembarking passengers. There were about 300 passengers on board. “The aircraft was being guided by the Air India ground staff when it collided with the aerobridge,” said a spokesperson of Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd.

The passengers disembarked safely. However, the incident sparked a blame game between airport and Air India officials with both parties blaming each other.
