Four ‘laundry’ men arrested for robbery

Navi Mumbai: The Crime Branch has arrested four people who on the pretext of being laundry men did a recce of shops and stole valuables at night.

The accused, a year ago, had started a laundry shop at Nerul MIDC. During delivery and collection of clothes, they kept an eye on various shops.

In October, they broke into a mobile shop in Sector 11, Nerul, and made away with 49 mobile phones worth ₹3.09 lakh.

The accused have been identified as Raju lalchand Gautam (21) from Shiravane in Nerul, and Sunil Shyam Bahadur (23), Avdesh alias Sonu Gulabchand Maurya (23) and Upendra Maheshkumar Gupta (28) from Goregaon.

“We suspect that the accused might have broke into other shops,” Sub Inspector Amit Shelar from the Crime Branch’s central unit said.
