Theatre: Karl Marx in Kalbadevi

June 09, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 16, 2016 11:44 am IST

The one-person play is about an unlikely scenario: Karl Marx being in the heartland of old-world Gujarati commerce, Kalbadevi. Director Manoj Shah experiments with that idea in this play by placing Marx in a place where no one seems to have the time or inclination to listen to the revolutionary. What ensues is a monologue about family, friends, Das Capital , a troubling boil as well as the enormous thali he had at Bhagat Tarachand. Tickets are priced at Rs. 300.
