Mumbai: Civil society groups and activists on Thursday urged like-minded people to observe the ‘death anniversary’ of demonitisation on November 8.

“We are a group of liberals not attached to any political party. The campaign will take off on social media to highlight the stupidity that the demonitisation was and its impact,” said Milind Murugkar, a policy researcher.

Activist Sanjay Apranti said they have over 60 text messages against DeMo with images, to be sent in different languages on WhatsApp and Facebook.

The civil society members said citizen groups have volunteered from Pune, Nashik, Bangalore and Chennai to participate, both online and offline.
