Mission Maharashtra: AAP member Sudhir Sawant addresses the media in Dadar on Saturday.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member Brigadier Sudhir Sawant said in Dadar on Saturday the the party would set up its core committee in the State by April 10 ahead of Assembly elections.

He said the AAP would make Maharashtra corruption-free and implement the reforms it brought about in Delhi. Mr. Sawant said the Bharatiya Janata Party had failed miserably. He said, “The State government talks more and implements less. The BJP is failing like its India Shining campaign in 2004. The Congress-Nationalist Congress Party government had the worst corruption record. The State needs a government that connects to the common man.”

Mr. Sawant alleged that BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, were ‘unprofessional’ for not delivering on their promises. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ‘hijacking the judiciary and the Election Commission.’

Mr. Sawant said, “The AAP government has fulfilled 80% of the promises it made to the voters in Delhi. We have brought welcome changes in the education and health sectors. Meanwhile, the Centre has only been committing atrocities against farmers and members of the armed forces.”
