Navi Mumbai: Panvel police on Thursday night, arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl at Kolaba fort in Alibaug.
The accused, Dashrat Pardhi, was a common friend and the victim met him six months ago. On April 8, Mr. Pardhi told the victim that he would show her the fort and take her for shopping.
A police official said, “The accused took her on his bike to Kolaba fort and raped her at an isolated place. He threatened to defame her if she spoke about the incident to anyone. The next day the girl suffered severe stomach ache and she told her mother what had happened.”
