Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former Transport Minister A.K. Saseendran has expressed happiness over the decision to induct Thomas Chandy, MLA, from Kuttanad into the State Cabinet. He said he stepped down as Minister to uphold the interests of his party and the Left government. “I will cooperate with the inquiries into the incident. I am happy that the incident has triggered a debate among the public about the functioning of media,” he said.

Mr. Saseendran told the media here that he had never given a thought to returning to the Cabinet after his resignation following a phone call controversy.
