Trawling ban from June 14 to July 31

Trawling has been banned along the Kozhikode Coast from midnight of June 14 to July 31, District Collector C.A. Latha has said.

The ban is being imposed as per the Kerala Marine fishing Regulation Act to protect the fishes while they are in their reproductive mode. During this period, motor boats and vessels with outboard/inboard engines should not engage in fishing.The Collector also said any fishing boats or vessels engaged in fishing along Kozhikode coast from other districts or states should leave the area by June 14 midnight.
