Amanda Elizabeth Sam, the student from the city who bagged the first rank in the Scheduled Tribe category in the medical entrance rank list in the State, has her heart set on cardiology.
This girl from Chevayur is a former student of St. Joseph’s Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School for Girls in the city. She had scored A+ in all subjects both in Class 10 and Class 12. An avid reader of fiction, Amanda is the daughter of Anil Lal Sam, a junior superintendent at the office of the Deputy Director of Education, Kozhikode, and Beena Abraham, who works at the Calicut University.
“I hope I will get admission to the Government Medical College, Kozhikode. I want to specialise in cardiology in the future,” she says.
