Second phase of education drive from tomorrow

‘Vision 100’ to ensure growth of each student and school

An academic master plan will be prepared and submitted before the people as part of the second phase of the ‘Pothuvidyabhyasa Samrakshana Yajnam’ (Save Public Education Drive) of the State government.

A press release issued by the district office of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan said here on Wednesday that the drive would begin in the district on Friday. The master plan would keep in mind the mandatory number of working days as per the Right to Education Act. Pedagogic activities would have to be planned in accordance with reaching the targets envisioned in the curriculum. Programmes such as ‘Malayalathilakkam’ and ‘Hello English’, designed to spruce up the linguistic skills of students, should be highlighted. Differently-abled students and those suffering learning disabilities should be given special attention. The department has proposed a ‘Vision 100’ to ensure the growth of each student and the school. The government has instructed the department to prepare the academic master plan by January 30 and announce it before the public by February 1.

A workshop to train Education Department officials, headmasters and principals of high schools, higher secondary schools, and vocational higher secondary schools will be held on Friday at the Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Thamarassery, Providence Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode, and the District Institute of Education and Training, Vadakara. In the first phase, master plans for the development of schools were prepared and infrastructure was upgraded and high-tech class rooms were constructed.
