A Vilambara Jatha (proclamation rally) on Friday announced the ‘arrival’ of the week-long State School Arts Festival that starts on January 15. The rally with a band troupe, Student Police Cadets and microphone announcement accompanying it was flagged off by Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb from in front of BEM Girls Higher Secondary School, the organising committee office of the event.

After passing through almost all important points in the city, including the Pavamani Road, Mananchira, Rajaji Road and Mavoor Road, the rally concluded at the same venue. Later speaking at a review meeting of the organising committee at the Tagore Centenary Hall here, Mr. Rabb urged the members of various committees to make the Kalolsavam a grand event that is enjoyable to each and every visitor. It would be an occasion to showcase the entire cultural strength of our State, and we should do it in the best possible way, he said.
