Sand passes only for residential buildings

February 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - Kozhikode:

The Revenue Department has tightened the screening process of applicants as part of streamlining online pass allotment to collect sand from the permitted sand-mining points. As per the updated rules, sand passes will be issued only for residential purposes. For this, the applicant will have to produce a valid building permit approved by the local self government institution concerned to the panchayat secretary. All Akshaya centres in the district will act as service centres to submit online applications. — Staff Reporter
